OUR MISSION

For the love of the game, not profits, Hillsborough FC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to giving Hillsborough youth a strong foundation in soccer. Our mission is to provide a professional, well-organized, and player-focused environment where young athletes can learn the fundamentals, develop their skills, and grow a lifelong love for the game.

By implementing the PTA Method, Hillsborough FC sets the standard for youth soccer development-helping every player build confidence, improve technique, and reach their full potential both on and off the field.

LEADERSHIP

Hillsborough FC is led by President Heather Seeney, a lifelong Hillsborough resident, parent, athlete, and teacher. Her leadership is built on a family legacy rooted deeply in Hillsborough, reflecting decades of community connection and service to youth.
Heather grew up watching her grandfather lead by example-showing up, fixing problems, and giving his time, skills, and resources to strengthen the community. From a young age, she saw firsthand what meaningful service looks like: stepping up, solving problems, and investing in the next generation.

A Legacy of Service in Hillsborough
For generations, the Van Cleef family has shaped Hillsborough athletics through hands-on work, community investment, and a commitment to helping local youth succeed.

Jack Van Cleef’s Contributions Include:

  • Constructing and funding the pole barn next to the stadium field
  • Serving as general contractor: hiring, scheduling, and paying subcontractors
  • Donating personal time, labor, and resources to complete the project
  • Purchasing and installing wrestling lights, lineup boards, and gym equipment
  • Building baseball and softball dugouts, scoreboards, batting cages, and storage facilities
  • Coaching softball for many years as a dedicated volunteer
  • Supporting the football program on the sideline chain crew
  • Being inducted into the 2007 HHS Hall of Fame for his impact and service

Heather will continue the family legacy by offering Hillsborough residents a dedicated soccer program, bringing the same values of service, community, and youth development that her family has championed for generations.
